The 0.6.0 update, also known as the VR Overhaul update, is a major update to the game released on 7 April 2022.[1] This update includes reworks to the VR player experience, an upgrade to the Unity version, and a rework of the Sound Sensor.

VR
  • VR system moved from SteamVR to OpenXR, offering better performance and stability
    • Support for "all major headsets"
    • All OpenXR runtimes now supported
  • Cursor now avaible for when hovering over equipment
  • Two options for grabbing objects
    • Toggle: Press once to grab, press again to release
    • Hold: Keep button pressed down to keep hold of the object
  • Equipment belt and head camera slots in the truck now highlight when attempting to slot something into them
  • New VR Seated and Left Handed modes
  • New height calibration options
  • New hand poses and animations for different actions
  • Players can now swap objects between both hands by grabbing
  • New simulated crouch by pressing right thumbstick/trackpad
  • Snap turn can now be done by pressing down, when enabled
  • Walkie-talkie and journal now placed on belt for easier use
  • Improved VR throwing physics
  • New smooth camera mode for recording and streaming
  • New models and textures for VR belt
  • New left-handed mode for equipment to be toggleable in left hand
  • Known issues:
    • Scrollbars in the main menu are hard to use
    • Objects will need to be grabbed twice if the VR player was not the last to grab them
    • Applying settings whilst crouched resets player height
    • Some cabinet doors can't be grabbed

  • New designs for singular fingerprints (as opposed to handprints)

  • Ghosts can now be crossed off individually
  • Improved scrolling with scroll wheel
Hiding spots
  • Hiding spots which are made infeasible will now have furniture removed instead of blocking them
  • All maps now have at least one (or more) hiding spots depending on difficulty
    • Amateur: All spots available
    • Intermediate: ≥3 hiding spots
    • Professional: ≥2 hiding spots
    • Nightmare: ≥1 hiding spot
  • Doors, objects, and walls have been added or moved to remove several unintended safe spots
  • Maple Lodge Campsite: New door flaps for small tents
  • Willow Street House: Significant changes to make hiding spots much more consistent
  • New slots in locker doors for the player to see through

  • Fixed a bug where some ghost events didn’t play ghost sounds
  • Fixed a bug where you could sometimes grab a tent door that was not visible (e.g., behind you)
  • Fixed a bug where some lights in the farmhouses wouldn’t stop your sanity draining
  • Fixed a bug where the Onryo wouldn’t interact correctly if you didn’t get the Summoning Circle Cursed Possession
  • Fixed a bug where the ghost event objective would complete when there was no ghost event
  • Fixed a safe spot in the Ridgeview garage
  • Fixed a bug where sprint stamina wasn’t re-generating if you had your journal open
  • Fixed a bug where the journal brightness setting was higher than the main menu setting
  • Fixed a bug where after a hunt; the ghosts audio would fade out and back in briefly
  • Fixed a bug where Sanity Pills were not being removed from your inventory if used or if you died
  • Fixed a bug where the mist ghost event wasnt working correctly
  • Fixed a bug where the ghost would not walk towards you during some ghost events
