„This outdoor retreat was evacuated due to some campfire stories coming to life.”
Camp Woodwind is a small map in Phasmophobia. It very much resembles Maple Lodge Campsite, but is much more compact in size, bearing only a handful of tents, a couple of bathrooms, and the central campfire. This map unlocks at player level 13.
Structure[]
Camp Woodwind is analogous with 6 Tanglewood Drive for number of accessible areas (rooms vs. tents), but only possesses one open area pathway that can be circumnavigated around the main tent. This causes the map to feel almost unnervingly small and the ghost to be roaming very close to the entrance either way.
There are four tents, three clustered near the Picnic Area and one near the Bathroom, and a campfire. In addition, there is a shed-like area towards the back, referred to as "Lovers Bench". There is a game of backgammon near the farthest tent and an inaccessible lighted area which leads further into the forest.
Layout tips[]
- The campfire has only one entrance and exit facing the entrance gates; take care not to get stuck trying to quickly run through, or be cornered within it by the ghost during a hunt.
- For faster ghosts, looping around the only pathway may not be a suitable option due to its small size. Always prioritize smudging and hiding.
Key hiding spots and strategies[]
There are 7 "sanctioned" hiding spots on Camp Woodwind:
- Campfire, behind multiple barrels next to Games Tent
- Campfire, behind multiple cooler boxes next to Blue Tent
- Picnic Area, behind cooler boxes next to White Tent
- Yellow Tent, behind several sleeping bags on the right section
- Kids' Area, two small tents (orange and cyan)
- Food Tent, behind a table with multiple cooler boxes on it
Depending on difficulty and settings, a portion or all of the hiding spots mentioned may be unavailable, either blocked by props or not present:
- Amateur: None
- Intermediate: 2
- Professional: 4
- Nightmare/Insanity: 5
- 3-player game: +1 available hiding spot
- 4-player game: +2 available hiding spots
Additional hiding spots on multiplayer is overridden when "Number of hiding places" is set to None
Camp Woodwind is known for having many unreliable hiding spots, as ghosts frequently roam into some hiding spots, potentially killing players hiding there. These hiding spots are: Cooler boxes next to White Tent, the hiding spot behind the boxes in the Food Tent, and barrels next to the Games Tent. It is advised to hide in the small tents or use the furniture-based hiding spots next to the Blue Tent and/or in the Yellow Tent (if available) as ghosts roam less frequently in there. The Games Tent barrels are especially unreliable as the ghost can see the player through the small gaps between the barrels; if you must hide there, move as far back as possible and press yourself between the Games Tent and the barrel closest to it.
Looping is a strategy to consider for this map, as the entire map has one main circular path that will take you around the Blue Tent and across the Lovers Bench. One can also loop the ghost around the campfire but beware, ghosts can easily kill a player inside the campfire circle while they are outside of it. The log between the two doesn't affect the ghost's reach! The picnic tables near the entrance can also be used to loop the ghost. If you crouch at the short ends of them, it will also break line of sight.
Another feasible strategy on Camp Woodwind consists of "strafing" the ghost. One such spot is the ring of log seating around the campfire; if the player is agile enough, it is possible to force the ghost to constantly reroute its shortest pathing towards the player by constantly moving back and forth at the opposite side of the ring.
Bone locations[]
Bones spawn randomly, but will only spawn in areas that a ghost can also walk on.

Cursed possession locations[]
Easter eggs[]
The toilet heart easter egg, located on the top right of the tank.
- Slenderman - Like on Maple Lodge Campsite, Slenderman has a chance of spawning on the outskirts of Camp Woodwind. He can be seen in the rocky area with fireflies toward the back of the map, in the crack between the white food tent and the bathroom, or near the truck on its left side.
- Toilet Heart - A white heart can be seen on the toilets in the restroom building, which is a reference to the movie 'Saw'.
- Several engravings can be found on the wall of the bathroom. These refer to the beta team.
Trivia[]
- Camp Woodwind is one of two maps to only have one floor and one fuse box spawn location, the other being Sunny Meadows (Restricted) when using its Male Wing and Female Wing variations.
- The map's name possibly came from a world-renowned sleep away summer camp called Camp Woodward that is located in Woodward, Pennsylvania, United States.
