Props are mainly useless objects scattered around the location. Both players and ghosts can interact with them, with the latter also providing evidence or facilitating investigation.
Mechanics[]
Ghosts can interact with a nearby prop, usually to throw them, giving off an EMF 3 emission. Various props will have different sound effects depending on their material.
Props[]
Some props have special properties and/or can be interacted with differently by the ghost:
- Basketballs and volleyballs
As well as being a lobby minigame, basketballs can be found in Brownstone High School, while volleyballs can be found in various house maps. These balls have bouncy physics, and can be teleported by the ghost.
- Mannequin
Instead of being thrown, the mannequin can either be teleported to a specific spot on the map, or rotated in place. The mannequin cannot be teleported if a player is looking at it.
- Phones (various types)
Traditional phones can be rung, while smartphones can be vibrated. In addition, the phone in the cabin of Maple Lodge Campsite has a small chance of being rung after the nearby television is turned off, or when turned off by the ghost.
- Piano
Ghosts and players can interact with the piano to play a random note.
A reference to the content creator PsychoHypnotic, a potato can be found in a kitchen cabinet of 6 Tanglewood Drive and in Sunny Meadows's Bake House. When it collides with a surface, it emits Psycho's Twitch alert sound.
- Teddy Bears and bunnies
Teddy bears can be found in maps, and the ghost can interact with them in several ways: teleporting them, making them giggle, twisting their head, and throwing them normally. Bunnies can only be thrown or teleported.
- Various photos in frames
Though there is no special interaction by the ghost, many of these photos are of pets of the developers, and various content creators and staff of the official Phasmophobia Discord server.
